FAQ’s On Our Tax Accounting
How do you file taxes as a small business in Canada?
It is highly recommended that business owners use a licensed CPA to file their taxes.
Why should I use a CPA for my tax return?
There is a huge difference in the training, and expertise between a tax specialist, and a Chartered Professional Accountant. Learn why choosing a CPA is important here.
Do you provide tax optimization tips?
Yes. In addition to preparing your current year return, we identify available strategies, deductions and planning opportunities that may help reduce your tax burden in future years.
What documents do I need to provide?
After our initial consultation, we’ll provide you with a checklist corresponding to the type of return we are filing. Common documents include a trial balance, financial statements and previous notice of assessments.
Can you file my return remotely?
Yes. Our process is designed to be fully virtual, allowing you to securely upload documents, communicate electronically and sign authorization forms from anywhere.
Can you help if I haven’t filed my taxes for several years?
Absolutely. We regularly assist clients with outstanding tax returns and can help develop a plan to bring your tax filings up to date.
How much does a corporate tax return cost?
Fees vary depending on the complexity of your return. After a brief consultation, we’ll provide a transparent quote before any work begins.
When should I send you a request of service?
The earlier, the better. Federally, corporate taxes owed are due 3 months after fiscal year end (for CCPCs) otherwise 2 months. Filings are due 6 months after fiscal year end. Provincial rules may differ.
